Programma

The course has been designed to provide the student with knowledge of the main areas of Work and Organisational Psychology and Human Factors/Ergonomics. W/O Psychology deals with human capital issues and is instrumental in helping businesses become more effective and profitable; Human Factors/Ergonomics deals with improving employees’ well-being and performance.
The student will be exposed to the latest psychological tools and interventions currently used in business and other applied fields. Some of the key areas of the operator(s) at work (studied from an individual and collective perspective) that we will be covering are: personnel recruitment/selection, job and competency analysis, work-related stress, organizational learning, career development, leadership. For this the student will follow a series of talks from professionals/experts in the field, which provides a great opportunity to explore the latest techniques/tools and a number of case studies to learn from.
The programme is delivered through a combination of lectures, seminars, presentations, case studies. Assessment is through examinations, essays, group projects. At the end of the course the student will undertake an independent applied project.
Learning results
By the end of the course the student will be able to manage and apply the basic knowledge related to work and organizational psychology, and efficiently intervene on enhancing organizational performance and operators well-being.
