Modalità esame - Emergenza sanitaria Covid-19
Your FINAL EXAM will be happening on May 16th, from 9 am – 12.30 pm. ATTENDANCE OF EVERYONE IS COMPULSORY.
Your Final Exam will consist of (1) a written project/report and (2) a Power Point presentation of the key-points of your research.
In relation to (1), it will regard the research you will be conducting to test the usability of a product/service (preferably an app). Given the unprecedented times we are facing (re Covid-19), and the difficulty of involving real users during your tests, heuristic evaluations will be used (this will be fully addressed in class).
Your final project/report shall be sent via email to: tiziana.callari@unito.it before/on May 15th 11am.
In relation to (2), a presentation of your project will be given on May 16th. A copy of the .ppt presentation will be sent out to: tiziana.callari@unito.it on May 16th as part of the final evaluation.
Teams can be formed (up to two people), to develop your project but be considerate of the requirements following Covid-19.
Code of ethics Exams
Each student is invited to carefully read the University's Code of Ethics (available at the link: https://www.unito.it/sites/
default/files/allegati/01-08- 2014/cod_etico_comunita_ universitaria.pdf) whose moral principles we are sure you will all comply with - especially in this situation, in which the methods of examination will rely on your high sense of responsibility. You are men and women who will soon find your place in the labour market: professors have faith in your human qualities and we appeal to those.
However, the risk that meritocratic principles will be undermined by inappropriate behavior is real and that is why each professor will continue, with even greater rigor, to supervise the performance of the oral and written examination tests, facilitated by the inferential analysis tools of numerous data available to us and by anti-plagiarism and anti-copying software (eg TURNITIN https://www.unito.it/node/4686).
All unlawful behaviors will be punished according with the administrative sanctions that the regulation on proceedings and disciplinary sanctions against students provides for (https://www.sme.unito.it/sites/u005/files/allegatiparagrafo/20-07-2016/ regolamento_sanzioni_ disciplinari_scuola_di_ management_ed_economia_0.pdf) - Oggetto:
Programma
Can you think of any products you’ve purchased that were just too complicated to use? Maybe you struggled to figure out how to make them work. Shouldn’t all products or service be designed thinking of how you would use them?
The course outlines the importance of usability design, and provides tools and techniques to the different testing options, to evaluate that the intended product or service accomplish specific goals of interest for the appointed users.
The course is intended for students who aim to become practitioners in usability testing, to help organisations grow their understanding of how to deliver products and services having the users and their goals at the centre of the design process.
