The  topics covered, as well as the skills and abilities that are intended to form, are an essential part of the content of the training aimed at:

• provide specific preparation in the economic and managerial fields and in the innovation economy, consistent with the findings of consultations with main stakeholders (cf. RAD)
• to educate to the ability to read critically the dynamics, structures, conducts and performances of the main productive sectors.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING

Students * will learn through lectures (face to face and remotely), also thanks to discussions with experts and through exercises on case studies. The teacher may request the carrying out of exercises and verification tests. These tests can be optional or compulsory and can contribute to forming the final grade. Furthermore, the student must complete the learning process with a personal and autonomous study, which is one of the main tools for consolidating learning. The verification of the achievement of the learning outcomes takes place mainly through written tests, also in itinere, individual and group projects, preparation of reports or term papers, class presentations.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING

The skills listed are formed with a plurality of methods, often common to the various learning areas. The common basis is given by a solid theoretical training. The theoretical training is accompanied by the analysis of cases and the practical application of theory. In the economic field, practical application takes place through laboratories in which data, case studies, group and individual work, class presentations are analyzed. The business environment, on the other hand, makes use of workshops, group work and class presentations, often in the presence of experts from the production and market sectors. All these activities require the active participation of students, developing their critical ability, the aptitude to innovate, the ability to interpret the results and communicate them effectively to an audience of experts and non-experts. The development of the ability to apply the knowledge and understanding learned also makes use of the study and the personal and autonomous work that the student performs outside the classroom.

MAKING JUDGEMENTS

This autonomy of judgment will derive from the critical learning methods adopted in the context of the various training activities: critical reflection on case studies, laboratory exercises, individual and group work, as well as from the drafting of the final exam (three-year thesis).

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Communication skills are developed during the moments of comparison and discussion in the classroom, through the class presentations of individual and group works, prepared at home by the students and through the final exam

LEARNING SKILLS

These skills are developed through critical reflection on the texts proposed for individual study prompted by the classroom activities, the study of research cases and the applications illustrated by the teachers, the carrying out of individual and group projects, the carrying out of classroom exercises and on the occasion of the preparation of the final exam. Learning abilities are verified through written exam tests, through exercises and works carried out and presented in class.

The course is ANNUAL (from September 2023 to May 2024)

Students from previous years will be examined exclusively on the current programme during the period in which they will take the test.

8. Research and innovation
9. Sustainability and innovation.
10. The spread of innovation
11. Classroom cases and case studies

(Unless otherwise provided) Integrated teaching: synchronous lectures in presence and asynchronous on Cisco Webex platform available on moodle platform; insertion of documents and video media (also in English) and expert testimonials.

The course is ANNUAL (from September 2023 to May 2024)

Examination procedure:

By the end of each module there is a test in itinere (reserved for attending attending to ALL classroom testimonies) on MOODLE (quiz test, of 16 questions, multiple choice in max 10 minutes). The answers also include reduction scores (for wrong or no answers).

The ongoing test, one for each module, (on your device) must be preceded by:

a)short-test (test simulations with 2 or 3 questions quiz); at least 2 out of 3 tests must be present in the classroom (preparation for access to the test in progress);

b)classroom discussions/interactions where frequency/interaction capability/critical reading capability/autonomy will be ascertained;

a) and b) will be able to contribute to the final and final determination of the pre-appello vote only (ongoing tests of the end of the module; and NOT of the vote of the ordinary appeal or of the examination taken during the ordinary sessions).

Expected knowledge and skills will also be verified through:

ordinary appeal: a)written test (on own device) joint on MOODLE (1 question articulated on more sub-questions/open-ended theme of Managerial Economics + 1 question articulated on more sub-questions/open-ended theme of Economics of Innovation + 1 question on current economic issues), or b) quiz.SV.
The grade of the Managerial Economics module concurs (average) with the result of the Economics of Innovation module, to the final outcome (Teaching of Applied Economics registrable only if the prerequisites of both modules are exceeded).
